About Circle Collection

The Circle Collection is all about complicated balance, in natural and relaxed form.

These are hand-hammered circles and coin beads, affixed to chains of variable length, in unexpected arrangements of dynamic balance, which is either carried, overlapped, continued or finalised by the components during motion.

Gill names these arrangements Circles of Life. She works them in Sterling silver and, on demand, also in Gold. She explains how she began this new collection:

My previous collections were perfect in shape, clean-cut, smooth and polished. I started to create these hammered surfaces, to break boundaries and rules a little, to oppose the rules of my mind, to feel more natural, more relaxed.

The irregular pounds of the hammer created bumps and heights on the soft metal as I worked. The feeling of the surface was surprising and pleasant to the touch.

Once I felt comfortable in my new technique, I went back to my asymmetrical style of composition, to also break the rules of the circle.

My new passion is to create these new relaxed surfaces and circular forms in asymmetry, and the outcome is always unique and different, in every arrangement.
